Thank you Charles, that helped. I am also very annoyed by warnings, when I joined this project they had around 600 warnings (most of them duplicate variable name) and developers did not care about it and they ignored them, I could not sleep until I did not solve all of them. :-) Well this was the last one. :-)

I am a neophyte to Flex/OSMF/Flash; I think the last Adobe app I used was Illustrator 7. But I have been watching video on hulu.com for several months and I decided to investigate doing something similar over our home network. I started out trying Microsoft’s Expresion tools (my wife has an MSDN subscription) but the latest release is buggy and difficult to use. I was shocked to discover that Adobe has such rich open source tools available. Anyway, I have been researching everything I can Google on dynamic streaming and especially OSMF which brought me to your blog. I found several of your tips to be very relevant to where I am at. I am disappointed that you have not posted for a while now. Please keep up the good work.

Hi Jonathan,

The AkamaiPluginSample app (a Flex app) demonstrates the use of the SMILPlugin. And I’ve fixed the bug mentioned above in Sprint 11 (involving the MAST plugin and the SMIL plugin not working together), so you may want to grab that release for the latest and greatest.

The download includes a SMILPlugin with UnitTest but no example project. Would you happen to have that example?

I’m building a plugin this weekend that will work like your SMILPlugin so it would be great to see the example project.

Hi, Have you posted this on the OSMF forum? http://forums.adobe.com/community/opensource/osmf/developers There might be a bug in the swf loader code if it's not loading a swf built with Flex. That's not my code or I'd go fix it real quick ;) Also, there was a fix made to trunk today that allows you to load plugins locally if you specify the "file:" protocol. You should be able to find directions for getting to trunk here: http://osmf.org
